October 2021 Round-up

Number of dives: 8

October comes to an end and it was more about what happened above water than under (got married!). Weather was mixed with some amazing sunny days and some periods with really strong winds and a lot of rain.

There were some exciting stuff happening underwater as well though. Finally got to do the Triton CCR crossover course with Johan Asplund!

The Triton Crossover

The Triton is a chest-mounted CCR and the crossover course lasted for three days. It was a lot of skills practice over 5 dives. We dove at three different sites:

  • Dalby stenbrott (quarry)
  • Ön, Limhamn (inside and outside)
  • Ablahamn, Kullaberg

During the course I tried a couple of different tank setups: 2x10L sidemounted, 2x4L sidemounted, and 2x4L backmounted with 80cuf stage tank.

A full report on the cross-over will be published shortly.

Practice Dives

After the cross-over I did a couple of practice dives with the rebreather. Here is a short video when removing and putting it back on.

Digging Crab

During the last dive I saw this peculiar behaviour I hadn't seen before; a crab digging in the mud with its legs sticking straight up. Recorded a video of it...

Next Month

November will probably be pretty slow but very excited for a weekend trip to Långban mine!
